Ayelet, who will be moderating a panel on ‘How to do PR for your VR Startup’ on the 16th of May, has taken some time to answer the VR World speaker Q&A:

 

Please tell us a bit about the work you are doing in the VR/MR/AR space?

I work with many interesting and innovative VR/MR/AR startups and help them share their stories with the world and get the recognition they deserve.

 

What benefits do you think immersive technologies can bring to your industry?

Immersive technologies open a whole new way to tell stories. They actually can draw the writers into the story and make them experience it for themselves instead of just reading about it.

 

Do you think enterprise is ready to take full advantage of immersive technologies? Why/ why not?

Not sure if "full advantage" but definitely beginning to understand the advantages that immersive technologies can bring them. Sooner than later enterprises will also be utilizing these technologies in order to increase their employees' productivity and make their work force and processes more efficient.

 

Which industry do you think will be most impacted by VR/AR/MR technologies?

I think all industries will be impacted by these technologies.

 

How can we boost content creation for VR applications?

By creating more content that's relevant to our era.

 

How are partnerships contributing to growth in the immersive technology market?

Partnerships strengthen the immersive technology market and enable brands to create even more advanced technologies to advance us in this space.

 

Are there any projects or applications of VR/AR/MR that you’ve seen that are particularly impressive and why?

Yes. Quite a few. For example, Inception VR is aiming to be the Netflix of VR, Infinity AR can turn any device into a powerful content augmentation platform, using basic and affordable hardware. There are so many cool projects! It's really hard to keep track of all of them.

 

What are the key ethical issues that arise from the use of immersive technologies and how are these being addressed?

There are many issues from identity to privacy and more. I'm not certain that anyone knows at this point how to truly address this issues frankly because no one yet understands the depth of how far these technologies could lead us.

 

Where do you see immersive technologies in the next 18 months?

The rate at which these technologies are advancing is exponential. In 18 months from now we will see a huge advancement I'm certain of it. These technologies will take over many sectors from gaming to real estate, and more.

 

What are the key challenges to mass market implementation of VR/AR/MR and how do you see these being overcome?

The key challenges as I see it are: Adaptation, affordability, and more. These will only be overcome if these technologies are made easy enough to wear, to afford, and to implement without any special skill needed.
