Programme Director, Digital Engineering & Test Centre

Jonathan Horsley is the Programme Director for the new Digital Engineering & Test Centre based on Olympic Park, London. The DE&TC is also the first spoke of the Advanced Propulsion Centre and will develop technology to bring digital techniques into automotive powertrain design, manufacturing, and test. A key component of this work will be the engagement with the emergent gaming sector and use of high-power computing. 

Before joining the DE&TC, Jon was Automotive Lead Technologist at InnovateUK (formerly Technology Strategy Board) for five years, designing and implementing approximately £40m worth of UK grant-funding programmes to support the various UK automotive sectors. 

Jon read a Carbon Management MBA at University of East Anglia in 2008, and before then, held a number of posts within powertrain development over a 17-year career with Zytek including leading the EV/HEV group from 1998-2002 and, most recently, as a director of the JV with Continental Engineering Services GmbH.
